When will my ducks have their adult feathers?

My ducks are about 9 weeks old and I thought they had their adult feathers but they've been loosing so many feathers. Is this normal? Are they molting?

Yes! They are molting. Ducks immediately go through their first molt and get their true adult plumage after they’re fully grown. They should be done in a few weeks

It seems so silly for them to molt right after getting their first feathers! Mine had beautiful “feather suits” by 8 weeks and it’s time to molt again 1 month later? I assume that they don’t lose all of their feathers during this molt? I do see that my male is slowly getting nuptial feathers, but my girls seem to only be trading out some of their first feathers for fresh ones. No wonder they eat so much right now!
