I have four mallards. 3 drakes, one hen. They are mallards, not rouens. (I have 10 of those as well). They will be a year old this June, but I would like to know when they will start laying. Should I move her to her own coop with her favorite drake, or leave her on our pond? They are not able to hatch their own outside of a coop, so I think that I will have to move them. Their wings are clipped as well.

Mallards usually start laying from 20-26 weeks. If you want ducklings I would move her into her own coop, but it would be best if there was more than one hen with the drake to prevent over breeding.
