I'm supose to get my 4 Sebastopol goslings this next week and was wondering how old before egg laying starts??? Will it be next spring? And also when about do they start and stop laying in the laying season? And do they lay every other day or do they go longer than that??? Thanks

It'll be next spring before they start laying. This is my 3 pair's first year laying and all 3 pair are done laying already. Between them they laid 30 eggs and we got 20 live goslings out of 30 eggs. It was a good year for goslings!

Oh, to answer your question, they'll usually lay every other day. Laying season varies for everyone. Mine didn't start until February but we had a hard winter this year. I've been told that they usually start in January. Breeding season can be from January through May...sometimes into June.

Good luck and congrats on your new goslings!

Laurie
