When will my silkie finally go broody?

I have a almost 9 month old silkie who is laying eggs, but she couldn't care less about them... Will she possibly go broody as she gets older, or is a sign that she is going to be one who won't sit on her eggs? I seem to have really bad luck with hens sitting on eggs, none of mine will... Was hoping she would.

Oh, she will. I had a hen go broody about 10 months old. She just finished her second brood, and is just over a year. I hope she takes a break between broods this time... She was only laying 2 weeks before she went broody AGAIN!
