I have a buff silkie bantam who just started laying 2 days ago. Any predictions on when she might go broody? I don't need her to go broody but I would be happy if she did.

When she feels like it.
It could be in the next several weeks or never.
Not every hen, of even the most broody prone breeds, actually does so.
Some hens of non boody breeds go broody relentlessly. We always had 2 or 3 white leghorns out of 100 in broody cages. I had a black leghorn that raised 2 batches of chicks a year. I had a couple orps, one was always broody, the other never was.
I had a cochin that never went broody.
I had an orp and 8 Penedesencas that went broody within weeks of onset of lay
But some hens never do.
