Yesterday morning i came across a rather pleasant surprise in the feed room, I heard some rustling behind the boards that will be the walls to the chick/brooder room if we ever get around to it.
anyways I peek back, and there sat one of our sneaky little red and white Mutt hens
, we have 3 hens that despite having a pen, ALWAYS get out, I figured ok, she's just starting to lay, about 15 minutes later I went out to check, she was innthe yard, happy as a clam, and I counted TEN eggs
, we're going to leave them alone since shes worked so hard on hiding this nest for so long, but if she gets out again, and lays another egg, that will be 11...how many I'm waiting for her to set, cause I want fuzzbutts. but I'm wondering how many more eggs she's gonna lay before she decides to set them?
