I have a Sebright who had chciks hatch 24 ours ago and she is still just sitting on them.
I know they don't need to eat for 72 hours, however when will she decided it's time to go forage

She will know when it is time. Just keep feed and water nearby. Usually our hens will take 2-3 days to hatch their eggs out. Then she will leave the nest with her babies.

Mine also takes about 2-3 days to take them outside to eat !! Like the other poster said make sure you keep chick food and water near the hen, the babies will run out from under her to eat, drink and then run back under to be warm !!

How many did she hatch ?

She hatched two of two
The daddy chicken is a local wild chicken. The local chickens are from the jungle fowl originally.
My Sebright and my other chickens , Australops are fenceless free range.
We live in the tropics so I let them roost in the trees next to the house they take a bit of rain, ho hum
It so cool, they roam all day but come home to lay there eggs in the flower pots I have put out for them with bedding and a cover over them to sheild from the rain.
Our dog looks after our chickens , she is so sweet.

Please can some one help me with posting a picture, I can't work out how to.

YAY!!! Chicks!!! Did you move the broody hen before she hatched after all? Just curious.

Also, I sent you a PM about posting pictures, hope it helps. There is some info about doing it in the INDEX section (in the blue stripe above on the page here) *points up at the top of the page* it's the first question in the list.

Happy to meet you too!!

Here they are. They are 48 hours old and crusing around with Carlita the mom.
I don't know if they will take after the mom or dad.
