when you say cat food ...

My girls love canned cat food. Sometimes they get the dried bits left if the cats don't finish all of it and sometimes they get their own can.

Thanks for all ofthe replies - we will give it a shot and see if it hastens our Lucy's molt!

Not quite to your situation, but I have a rooster that eats with the farm cats at each meal. I give the cats dry, pellet-shaped cat food, and he just joins them around the plate. They act like he's one of them. He's very large and healthy looking, so I guess he's getting a lot of that cat food protein.

I've started feeding canned cat food once or twice a week. They LOVE it! They will eat anything put before them, but do like a variety. If it's in a container such as the outdoor cat's food bowl then they will devour it.

Dried cat food or bird seed is what my chickens get for a treat.
