When You Work Out Your Hatch Rate....

Do you count every egg you started with from day 1, or after you candle and chuck the infertile ones, or after you move them to hatcher on Day 18? I have extremely different percentages depending on how I look at it.

infertile eggs dont count quitters..blood rings do

Jamie is right if your just keeping up with how good your incubator works. If your selling hatching eggs you need to count all the eggs.

I just did my first hatch, purely for our own amusement (although ostensibly to increase flock size). I was braced for 0% hatch but had some success. If I count all eggs, it was only 10/ 24. After I ditch the infertiles it's 10/12.
