I salivate when I here people talking about $8-10 for a 50lb bag. I did recently find $10.50 for 50lb of layer in Kouts, though. Can anyone help me out. It almost seems like feed mills try to hide. I've got grain fields all around me; surely there are some good deals around, right?

Aww too bad :-(
I just did a search and your town is 2 hours 38 minutes away....

We get ours from a mill that is less than 10 minutes away...made there and FRESH ingredients...that is the key to getting out of the bag what the manufacturer says they put into the bag and yes we pay about 10 something a bag (50 lbs) When we lived in N. Michigan this feed is the thing we dreamed about for our bunnies and chickies!

Wish I could have helped but we are near Fort Wayne and still new to the whole "where in Indiana again?" thing. Sorry not to be more help...

I'm not in your area but wanted to say that our local mill WAS $10 but now (one month later), $12. Prices are going up, up, up! I called the local feed stores JIC and they were all around $14.

Sorry to hear that and really hope that does not happen here!

Does your local mill make its own feed?

That is what ours does but of course they don't grow their own sooo...they have to truck it sooo...it could very well go up here too!

*sigh*

I drive 45 min over to Grabil to buy my feed from Sauders. I pay about $16 per 100#. Other than there I don't know. I may try switching to the feed mill that my goat friends use. Once I find out who they are.
