My mama hen has made it very clear that she's ready to bring her babies out to re-join the flock. The babies will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. Currently they are only out under close supervision, especially after having a chick attacked by a meat bird.

How do I find the courage to let mama do what she's ready to do? And when I find the courage, how do I do it? Do I just let them out in the daytime and put them back in their crate at night or what?

Help!

Take your Kindle, a big mug o' your favorite, calming beverage, and sit out with them whilst the chicks explore the world with their brood-mother. Just enjoy the whole flock.

And see if she wants to bring 'em back to the special place at night or not.

My first broody hen tried a few times to spend the night in the coop, but the GrandChick wanted to stay in the special quarters, so she gave in for nearly a week. Finally, Samantha made it into the coop and stayed with Buffy.

See how it goes.

OR maybe I could just send them to you and you can send em back when they're raised?
