Just spent $30 bucks on a GQF Spot Check Temperature thermometer Probe for my Genesis 1588. I was wondering where you guy's hang/place your probe thermometers to get the most accurate readings. The first thought is to remove the red vent plug on the 1588 and just hang it down to egg level, but that hole is right next to the fan so i have no clue if the circulating air would effect the reading or not.
Also, as you know, an auto egg turner for the 1588 can only hold 42 egg's max. Well with all the egg's i have purchased i have acquired exactly 43 eggs thus far, and to boot my millie fleur d'uccle girls have just started laying. I plan to set tomorrow and will have about 4 millie egg's i want to set REAL BAD!!! lol. So my question is is there any way i could put some banty egg's in their some how to incubate with the rest of my egg's? Or do you think im just pushing it? I even thought about going out and buying a cheap LG to throw my extra egg's in, i just don't want to spend the money. I suppose their is some space in front of the motor i could put the banty egg's in but then i would have to hand turn, totally defeating the purpose of the auto turner i have in their in the first place.
