I just got done gutting and cleaning my new coop(got it from my sister-inlaw) and I was wondering what side do I put nesting boxes? There is a window on the west side and a window and door on the Southside of the coop? Please help

Most hens(they are individuals) prefer a darker spot to lay.
More importantly IMO is to position the nests so that when they go in to lay that they don't walk under the roosts and track poop into the nest.

Unless you use a poopboard. Then the space underneath the roost is the perfect space for nesting boxes as they are generally dark and secluded. I have a 7' communal nestbox under my roosts+poopshelf in my coop and my girls have used it from day one.

I scoop the poo every couple of days off the poopshelf, which is lined with PDZ and I have no smell and no mess in the coop. 95% of the poop mess is in the pdz and easily scooped off. Takes all of 3 minutes to do.
