Hello,

I'm looking to buy one day old Pekin duck, I live in southern nj but would drive up to an hour to pick up a duckling. I want to buy a day old newly hatched duckling to ensure that it will imprint on me as I'm planning to keep it as a house pet and diaper it. I've seen the websites where I could order but I don't want two and honestly I'd rather pick up my duckling than have it spend two days in a box. Any info about where I can buy a duckling in nj is much appreciated

Thanks
Brittany

You can order them from hatcheries or buy them at feed stores. They will probably be close to a week old though. For one day you'd have to find a farm that raises and breeds them and buy them from them, but I don't recommend a day old. It would lessen the chance of duckling survival. At a week old they are still cute and tiny, but a lot stronger and are already eating food.
