Where to buy juvenile ducks

I was just wondering were to buy adult ducks. I don't mean fancy ducks like they sell online but simple ducks like pekins, khampells, mallards, or buffs. and i dont have any local stores that sell them

Shipping costs will be very expensive for adult ducks

As stated, it will cost alot to have adults or "started" ducks shipped. I would post in the "where am I, where are you" forum. I don't know if there is a ND thread but it seems like most states are represented.
Also, post a wanted ad on your local craigslist. Post it in the wanted and in the farm sections. I was able to get some very nice chicks by doing that here. The breeder didn't advertise them for sale but responded to my wanted ad.

I see time and time again that shipping is expensive. Unless you ship birds regularly it can "seem" like it is expensive, but its based on weight of the birds and is VERY reasonable. Currently 2 geese (large juveniles) are shipping this fall at $110 - $120. Ducks obviously weigh less and will cost less per box to ship. Birds ship USPS, must be in approved boxes made to hold them safely during travel, the boxes vary in size and cost depending on the birds being shipped.

just curious

would it not be better to drive the birds to the new home

im sure petrol is less expensive

i have my birds shipped but not via post

the breeder delivers them him slef to me

i only pay £30 per delivery of as many birds as i want last time i ordered 11 adult geese for that one price and he drove them in his purpose built avian van and even helped me get them all in the goose huts in my backyard
