Where to buy small amounts of wheat for chicken grass?

If you cannot get small amounts locally, you can order small amounts of wheat grass seed online. I have done it before and it is not terribly expensive.

Health food stores are usually a good place to find bulk grains or bags of sprouting grains, if you just want a pound or two. I know a person with just a few pet chickens doesn't always want to buy a 50 lb bag at the feed store. You can definitely buy it online a lot of different places, too.

Thanks all!

You can do it either way or both ways. Both ways have benefits, they just have different nutrients and amounts of various nutrients in them. Just sprouted, they have more of the nutrients in unsprouted grain, plus enzymes get activated. Left to grow and green up, they have the benefits of green feed and chlorophyll. You can look up information on sprouts and wheat grass on the internet. There's lots of it out there. You can also do a search on the forum, as it's been discussed many times.
