Gah! It's GORGEOUS! Lucky chickens! Mine is only 12x6 sadly, but I think it'll work out well. And we'll definitely be hanging their feeders/waterers. The ducks will be sharing a run with them (no drakes) but will have their own duck house. I can't let them free range here, too many stray dogs (or dogs with owners who don't care I should say) and eagles everywhere. See at least 5 bald eagles a day plus lots of hawks.

I would do everything possible to eliminate the heat, it's such a huge risk. Maybe just insulate the coop and then they should fine for winter? That's what we're doing, insulating so it'll hold their heat in well and making sure it's well vented. Our winters are much like yours.
How are you insulating yours?

Not to hijack, but I know you live not far from me - we don't have to insulate? They'll be okay through the winter? Mine are still in their brooders in the house, but we were planning to insulate their coop this weekend.
We have 4 and that's all we are having. We are planning on adding to the run once we can. We got our chicks from the local farm supply store and we are not positive on what
You don't need heat and you don't need to insulate.
You need DRY and VENTILATED.
You are sorely lacking in the ventilation department.
How many birds and what size are you planning to keep in that tiny coop?
Your run is very undersized in relation to the coop. Are you adding on to it?
We have 4 and we aren't sure what kind they are yet been got them from the local farm supply store. We are planning on adding to the run as soon as can but it may be a while before we can.
