Almost done with the coop. Still need to touch up red, and paint trim white/ladder but getting closer. Now I need help where to put my roost. First picture is side view of it. Added a rollaway nest, and another opening so I can get into the nest box from outside.

Picture below is inside.

Bottom right is covered up but that is where the nest will be. I just don't know which way to run the roost and how high? Do I run them over the nest box? Parallel to the side door? Will the vent windows be too much draft? I only have 4 chickens that will be in there, 5 at most.

Front of coop with a slide door. ***I'm not a builder, so no judging :).

Thanks!

I'd put the roost front to back, opposite side of the door and put it up about 8" higher than the top of the nest box. Keep it 12" away from the wall and your wall should stay clean. If you put it on that side the vent up higher should not bother them.

Looking at the run door pic, to the left of that or line it up with the left side of the run door. and run it back to the nest box.
