What breed of chicken is the best for egg production? And how long to laying from hatching them out?

We ordered amber sex links because they can lay up to 365 eggs per year. They are a fairly new breed, so you may have to hunt around to get some. I wish I could tell you when they start laying, but ours are only 6 weeks. Here is a pic.

Our cousins got some last year, and the hens are very pretty. Im sure they got them in the spring, and they started laying that summer.
