4 feet. That's standard spacing for lumber and supports.3 foot or 4 foot hardware cloth? (For making a run.) And do you have a reason for your preference?
I'm still not sure what the framing is even going to be/look like yet! LOL Undecided if I am going to use the existing pen I have for the turkeys, or do something new. If the former, I will just attach the HC to hog panels on one side, and welded wire dog kennel panels on the other 2 sides. If I do that, I will probably just use 3 foot because I will only be going "X" number of feet up from the ground rather than the whole thing. And to be honest, I'm not sure I need it at all in that case. (The hog panels already have 6 foot chain link attached to them.Best to choose the fencing/mesh width to match your framing design,
or match your framing to mesh width.
I used 14ga 2x4 welded wire 6' wide/tall, and spaced my supports to fit that:

I have my turkeys in it currently. (Hence why I attached the chain link. #1 I HAD it, and #2 my turkeys were small enough to get thru the higher/harger hog panel holes if they wanted to.) No complaints yer though It has worked great. BUT it will be warm weather soon and I would really prefer not to have snakes inside! (We have rattle snakes and bull snakes. Rattle snakes are just all around undesirable! Bull snakes will eat eggs.HA! IKR?!
What kind of mesh, and other materials, to use can be confusing, gotta look at the big picture as you plan all parts of your enclosures.
