Hello. I am brand new to chickens. Please can you share with me which Hanging Feeder and waterer you recommend for placing in their coop when they are old enough to be in the coop? Thank you!

I like the galvanized round hangers for my laying hens. They look way nicer than the plastic ones and last longer if exposed to sunlight. They come in a variety of sizes from 12lbs to 40lbs. The plastic ones come in a small 7lbs size up to 30lbs.

I use a black plastic tub for my pasture water (I keep the water outside of the coop during summer) and a galvanized 5 gallon waterer that is heat-taped for the winter inside the coop. I have also started to use the poultry nipples but haven't gotten my birds trained to them yet.

I don't recommend the little gallon or 3 gallon plastic waterers that you have to flip upside down to fill, they are messy and the top part where the hanger is attached is prone to warping/breakage after a summer of use.

For metal feeders and waterers I prefer the Little Giant brand. For plastic I prefer Harris Farms from Tractor Supply.

All of the waterers and feeders in my tractors are hung using double loop dog chain. For established birds I use metal feeders and waterers. For birds in their first few weeks in their grow-out tractors I use the three gallon plastic waterers so that I can use vinegar in their water. Metal tube feeders.
