Buff Crested Polish - Never kept any, so no experience as of now.
Black Copper Marans - Love this breed, especially for egg color. Nothing compares to chocolate in your eggs cartons!

Very docile birds, easy to handle, and quite cold-resistant.
Buff Orpington bantam - I've no experience with the bantam BOs, but my standard girl is quite nice. Once again, good layers, quite docile, though not terribly "friendly" per se. (that's just my opinion)
Barred Rock bantam - no experience, but heard nothing but glowing reviews about them!

My standard hens are among the most persistently loving.
Speckled Sussex - ADORED my Sussex, Mairead, who tragically got killed by a hawk this winter. She was hands down one of my favorites in all respects.

Simply to-die-for in the looks department, her plumage was unbelievably flashy, great layer, smart as a whip, and last, but not least, incredibly friendly.
Snowy Easter Egger - Easter Eggers are possibly the most interesting breed of them all, since down color as a chick has no bearing on adult plumage! On top of that, there's no telling their future egg color. I equate the experience to Christmas morning, such optimism going in to it and element of surprise.

So gorgeous, some are quite personable and others not so much (but isn't that true for everything?), and very prolific layers.
Mille Fleur d’Uccle bantam - Can't say enough about this breed! I have 5 right now and I absolutely adore them beyond words!

Once again, simply breathtaking with their spangles, fluffy beards, and luxurious feathering.

Decent layers of small off-white eggs.

Friendly, friendly FRIENDLY little munchkins!!!! I can barely get anything done in the coop with them around....unless I want to face constant cries for love.

Great, 5-star breed.
Buff Brahma bantam - I only had one, a cockerel, and he is now gone because he was human aggressive. Not an accurate representation of the breed, unfortunately.
