We're pretty proud of this year-old rooster (Mister Beck-Beck). He's survived three hawk attacks, fighting them off the flock each time with a total loss of only one of his hens (she's in the freezer, though, so not a total loss). Bloodied but unbowed, we thought he'd lost an eye in the last attack, but it opened back up a few days later. We see hawks regularly these days, however, I think word about this fella has gotten around on their version of Facebook - they just keep moving on to easier prey.
