So I got 3 frizzle/silkie roosters and they were getting along just fine. Then one day I look out and they're fighting. I rush out, break it up and remove the one that I assumed was the victim. Turns out he was the predator!! The two that I left in the pen are fine and I haven't had any problems with but the other one is mean and tries to peck me every time I water and feed him. My question is do I risk it and keep the mean one and get rid of the other two.....keep the two I have, risking that they will start fighting and get rid of the mean one.......or keep one nice one and get rid of the mean one and one of the others.... ??? Comments and opinions greatly needed.....

My advice would be to try getting rid of the one you know is mean and hope for the best. OR. to get some females in there and try putting him back too. I've never had more than one male at a time in a flock but my grandfather used to raise massive flocks and as long as there was a mix he didn't have many if any problems but when males out numbered females or were the only ones in the pen problems were ALL he had.

hope this helps.

If it were me, I would keep the nicest one and get rid of the others. Good luck!!

Why on earth would you keep a rooster that pecks at you? Get rid of him. Keep the others. Many of the members here have multiple roos that manage to get along fine, either in bachelor pads or in flocks with the girls. If, somewhere down the line, you need to get rid of another roo, then do so at that time.

Thanks for the advice, I most definatley am getting rid of the mean one and if the others start fighting I may add more girls or get rid of one of the roos....
