My 10 year old son went to fair for the first time back in September. He loved it! He showed a rooster that we got from our cackle surprise box. He sold him in the fur and feather auction and got a nice chunk of change. So he decided to put some of his money towards next years project. We ordered some bantam calico cochins. We only got 2, as this was a combined order with my other son that got fair birds also. It turns out, both chicks are boys! We were hoping for a pair, but that's ok. Since we do not need 2 roosters, he is trying to decide which one would be better for showing at fair. Does anyone have any input? One is a lot darker than the other. I am not sure what is more desired in this color. He will be showing, not selling his rooster next year.
