I changed my mine. I'd pick a dutch bantam.

From among those 8 breeds, I would go with the Buff Orpington. I raised Buff Orps for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are beautiful, hardy, friendly and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and good layers of large, brown eggs.

My current flock are all RIR and BO's, and I have loved every minute of them all.

If I was going to even up the numbers, I'd take another BO.

But if I was after more eggs, I'd have the RIR.
