Which parrot won't bite my ear?

Does anybody here have any recommendations about what kind of parrot won't bite my ear when they perch on my shoulder? What kind of parrots should I avoid?

Not a clue but I have raised cockatiels and currently have a female. If you get just one they will bond with you an will sit on your shoulder. If you get a male they can mimic a bit of voices or sounds. I do have a small harness that I keep on her when we are outside because if they get spooked they will fly and get lost.

Hand-raised female cockatiels or hand-raised male budgies are least likely to bite. Just about any other species will bite sometimes, or often.

Any of the parrots, from the budgie to the macaw, can bite your ear. Does not mean they will, but they still can. And it will hurt.

A birds beak is one of his most important tools. It's how they explore the world around them. A curious parrot will nibble on new things to see if it is something tasty to eat or something fun to destroy. Birds will preen each other to show affection. Some people also confuse this as being aggressive when really it is a sign of affection.

Biting is mostly an aggressive or fear related response. If a parrot is scared, their first reaction is to get away because they are prey animals. Biting is the other response. When a parrot is angry, he may give you an assertive nip.

I'd recommend starting small. A budgie or a cockatiel to start with before jumping to the bigger birds. With the proper care, budgies can live to be 10 years old, cockatiels 20. The bigger the bird the longer it lives. Large birds also require, not more work, but more work. They need larger cages, more food, and more attention then the smaller ones (small birds still need a lot of attention).

My parents had cockatiels while I was growing up and they just hung out with my dad all the time and everywhere. Totally bonded to him. All my baby pictures also have a bird in them haha
