I have 16 two week old ring necks, and 42 due to hatch in a few days. Soon after that I'll have another batch of 40+ eggs going into the incubator, so I will soon have a hundred or more pheasants that will take up residence in my pheasant growout pens.

Looking at limiting the amount of issues due to pecking. I've seen clip on peeper, perfect peepers, and economy peepers. The cost isn't an issue, just need to know what works well.

Thanks in advance.

Each pen is about 1,200 SF.

I have used the peepers that has the pin that goes thrue there nostril and they work great.I tried the ones that just clip on and they keep falling off.

I just put some pinless peepers on one of my girls who has turned into a complete bully. Im hoping it will force her to cool her beak. Getting them on was super easy. I wrapped my girl in a towel so she couldn't struggle and held her still with just her head out while my son put the peepers on. So far she hasnt been able to get them off.

What I want to know is there ever any reason to take them off and clean them and let the chicken pick her nose or can we just keep them on forever?

I only needed peepers on 1 pheasant ever and he had to make due with one I cut out of a yogurt cup(after studying pics of their shape) and fastening them on with a piece of wire thru his nostrils. They have never come off and worked great!
