Which rooster to keep?

Hi guys,

About a week ago I posted on here that my roosters began to fight like crazy. We separated them and every time we put them together again they would go all-out fighting. Everyone here mentioned how the only solution would be to remove some of the roosters. We have 2 older roosters and 2 newer ones that we hatched from our chickens. Most people suggest removing an older one and a younger one so that there would be a hierarchy between the two remaining.

The question is which of the older two should we keep?

Rooster A - He is docile and never defends the chickens from the younger roosters
Rooster B - He is the more alpha type, he always defends the chickens when the younger roosters chase them

Should we stick with Rooster B as he is a defender or do you guys think he will probably want to fight the younger roosters? Or does it even matter?

Thanks and stay safe!!

Try it and see, I think you have picked the younger rooster you want to keep. Pull one of the older roosters, and keep him out of it for several hours and see how it works. Because pulling out a rooster will change things, and there is no for sure answer. If it works, all is good, decision made. However, if it doesn't try flipping it with your reserve rooster, and see how that works. If neither pair works, then I would pick the one I like best of the older birds, and cull all of the others, just going with a single rooster flock.

Hatch eggs and try again next year.
