Which side is the oviduct entrance?

Hello!

I have a 4 y/o RIR named Lucy that I suspect has a laying issue (almost constant poop-stance, waddling, swollen abdomen, droopy purple comb, yellowish runny poop). I am going to give her a warm bath today and am going to attempt to examine her vent and abdomen. When I inspect her vent (with nitrile gloves and K-Y) do I need to focus on the left or right side? I don't want to make this any less pleasant for her than need be.

Sorry, but I think she may be an internal egg layer.
Can you post picture of her standing?

Thank you for your reply. I've read speckledhen's posts about Olivia over and over, and I suspect I'll have to bring her to the vet to have her abdomen drained (and to show me how to do it to keep her comfortable until she's ready) unless he insists on putting her down, in which case I'll comply.
