We're new to incubating. This is our second batch of fawn and white runner ducks. We have the Farm Innovators 4200 series incubator with a fan and turner. The instructions mentioned to use the built-in thermometer as a guide only.
I bought a $5 Accurite bulb thermometer and set it right on one of the turner arms so it's at the same level as the eggs. When it reads 99.5 degrees (or as close as possible, as I stupidly didn't think to get one that has enough space between the tick marks to read it precisely), the built-in thermometer reads much lower, like 94 degrees. Which one do I trust?
The humidity reading on the Accurite and on the built-in thermometer are very close to each other, so I assume they're right.
