Which thermometer to use?

i have two different digital thermometers that are reading different temps. One reads 70.4F and the other 69.9F which one should I use in an incubator ? The higher or lower reading one ? They are only 0.5 off each other ? Is the standard to take the average between the two ?

Both could be wrong. Regular thermometers have a +/- range of up to 2 degrees - meaning they can be off by a 4 degree range. You can calibrate thermometers using boiling water, then make a notation of how far off they are - if you google it you will find the directions. I would recommend the Brinsea Spot Check thermometer, they are very accurate.
