Which way do they go?

Do I keep the eggs on their sides or can I put them in the carton with the bottoms up? Just wondering?

If you mean when collecting for hatching, put the eggs in cartons with the fatter side up. That's the side with the air cell. The pointy/narrow end goes downward.

While they are in the incubator. I have them on the wire, I just thought they might do better in a flat container?

I just completed my hatch of silkies and had them in a still air no turner. I laid them on their sides and they did fine. just for thought: momma hens have them sideways in the nest. I had an OEGB hen hatch 18 chicks in a very full nest and they did great on their sides.
