I just hatched 2 peachicks from my India Blue Peafowl....
One of the chicks is white...is this common?

To get a white peachick from Indiablue looking parents, both the parents need to have a white gene meaning split to white.Most of the times the split peafowl show a couple of white flight feathers and a white throat patch also (not necessarily ), since white is co-dominant. . Also black shoulder peachicks are also born white or cream with a tiny tinge of yellow., upon close observation you will see light brown or light peach color on lower half of both wings.. In such a situation both the Indiablue parents need to be split to blackshoulder
 
No, not at all.I have raised several of them pure and in combinations with other colors and patterns in peafowl.
