I have quail hatching right now, they are supposed to be Corturnix. So my question is are they always going to stay white/yellow or will they change colors? This is my first batch and I'm so confused. Out of 40 so far, 6 of them are white.

Coturnix is a breed that has many many colors! If you don't like the white ones, send them to me

Good luck on the rest of your hatch!

How exciting! Aren't they sweet! Congrats!

Are these your own eggs, or did you order eggs? If you ordered, did you order a mix of colors?
As Shelley said, check out Quaillady's site, lots of fun pics!

I've had them hatching all weekend, and got our first white this morning! I had ordered the Texas A & M which is Jumbo white.

Keep us posted and more pics!

I got them from a friend who had only brown ones, so I was really confused. I had no idea they came in so many colors!

Well...all colors came from the original wild pattern brown color! They all taste the same, if that matters!

Sounds like there was a white one in the line somewhere. :-)
That would be quite the surprise if the person they came from only had brown.

Hope to see pics!

Although the original color is brown, there is white in those lines

sometimes you get odd balls in a hatch a few generations later. Apparently you were the special one that hatched them out
