My Osceola turkeys are around 6 months old and one of the seems to be a male with just having white in the feathers with the other one who I suspect in being a female is far more whiter. My question is this normal for it to be so much more whiter? Could it be to molting or still having chick feathers? Will it get darker when it’s older? Or is it a genetic mutation? Because I am assured they are purebred because I know the person I bought my stock from and he does not mix them. Any help will be much appreciated!

Irregular white pattern at an early age is often a sign of a development delay due to sickness or malnutrition.

After molting such birds will show their usual pattern.

Thank you so much I really appreciate it, I’ll try to them more protein in their diet because I’ve only been giving them around 21% but it’s obvious they need more thank you!
