Where do I find them!? Been looking online and locally, I want to cross white Cornish with white rocks for meeat chicks.

They are very difficult to find since there are few breeders of them in the US. Even if you are able to find some, you do realize that cross will not result in offspring that have the rapid growth of commercially available Cornish X?

On no I was not aware. I've done little research but I thought I could cross a white Plymouth Rock with white Cornish and get the fast growing Cornish X for a meat bird.

Most of what I have read says four breeds were used to develop Cornish X however I like your idea and have wanted to try it myself one day. Would the Cornish breed have to be white ?

Cornish were used as one of the original crosses for the modern day commercial broiler aka Cornish cross. One of the main reasons that Cornish were crossed originally was to get faster growth. Having raised true standard Cornish I can tell you they are extremely slow growing. if you are looking at crosses with commercial broilers to enhance there forage ability etc. I would look at crossing them with a naked neck or another breed with some width and growth to them. most commercially available Cornish are mostly disappointments and to buy them from a breeder even for the non show stuff will still be costly.

I guess the bottom line is what is your true goal for crossing the birds, if you are looking to make a fast growing, efficient bird, there is no way to beat what the commercial industry has done. If you want to make a faster growing (faster than most standard bred birds), heavy bird that you can reproduce, i would also take into to consideration that Cornish are not all that productive.

I will say having butchered out plenty of pure btm and std Cornish they do make a nice meaty carcass with great shape.
