white egg from brown egg layer??

Weird thing happened to me today!! My wife went to the run today and found an egg, a white egg. The weird thing is all my chickens are white rocks, brown egg layers. I'm wondering how in the world did I get a white egg from brown eggers...

How old are your hens? Where did you get them? Sometimes hatcheries will introduce a leghorn etc to increase production. Otherwise, your white egg layer may not know she is suppose to lay white eggs. that or she may actually be a White Holland or a Lamona, both lays a white egg.
