hey i have a rir hen which lays brown eggs, and a few ko shamos who could be laying any moment. i found a white egg could it still be from the rir or from the ko shamo hens

RIR lay brown eggs.. so your white one must be from the Shamos - congratulations! and post pics please... find those birds quite fascinating!

oh, just to make sure, thr rir, in winter only lays about twice a week. could there have been any chance of it laying a white egg

Nope. A hen lays the same basic color of egg her whole life. It might get a bit lighter in color over the laying cycle, but it won't change color completely.

so when will it be the next time the ko shamo will lay

are there any signs of which ko shamo is laying

Look for one with a very red, plump comb and a moist vent.

If you have several right at point of lay, you might not be able to tell. Some people put different colors of food coloring on the vents to see which one is laying. I've never tried it, so I can't say if it works or not. The theory is that some of the color will be transferred to the egg as it is laid.
