One of my bantys seems to have trouble laying. Shes new to my flock and lays about every other day. A pretty large egg for a banty. Last week I found her waddling around the run with an egg poking out and the other chickens wanted to peck it so I removed her and let her lay in the house in a box. She layed an hour later with the help of some KY...

Last night she was looking a bit bull legged and moving slow so I gently scooped her up to investigate and could feel an egg. I'm assuming it was todays egg developing? Then late last night I went to do my final head count and close the coop doors and underneath her where she was sleeping was white goopy stuff?! I felt under her and could still feel an egg, seemed intact? Nothing was poking out from her vent yet.

The same white stuff came out with her difficult egg last week, which wasnt broken at all. What is this?? Its not egg whites from a broken egg (I hope!!!).

One time I found, in one of our nests, a white chunk of SOMETHING that puzzled me. It was about as long as my thumb, shaped kind of like a bean, had a white, rubbery outer shell with nobs on it, and when I broke it open it looked and SMELLED just like a ham omlet. I could even see little chunks of ham-like stuff in it. It was flat on one side, and I thought it looked like a slug when you pick it up and it contracts. I thought maybe one of the chickens ate a slug and pooped it out that way, but ham and eggs??

This is the only thing I can think of that comes anywhere close to what you're describing! But I have seen a couple times hens with runny bottoms that looked as though they might have broken an egg. My mom found what she described as a handful of lun ch meat in the nests once too.

Some things people just shouldnt share with others . . .

Like, for instance, the fact that a person would pick up and SMELL something that is probably chicken poop or something else excreted from a chicken butt.
