One of my chickens has a white spot that is hard to the touch. It doesn’t seem to bother her but I am wondering if it is anything to be concerned about. Thanks for any information.

Is it only on the one side? Can you look inside her beak and throat for any white to yellow material or any mucus? Favus a fungal disease can cause white patches on the comb, face, and wattles. But she might have been pecked and it is healing. I haven’t seen that before.

It’s on both sides. I wasn’t sure if it was just part of the breed or not. She is an Aquila, I have another who has it on one side and not as much. Her beak and throat are clear with no white spots. It is really hard, not fleshy at all.
