Can a leghorn hen lay more than one egg a day on a regular basis? Just wondered.

Sometimes (rarely) a hen will lay more than one egg a day. However, they will not do this on a regular basis.

Ok. And if it's broody would it be a disadvantage since it is later in the summer?

Oh. So when they go broody they don't lay anymore at all or can they go back to laying? I have made sense of a lot now thanks.

When a hen goes broody, she first lays a clutch of eggs (usually 8-13 eggs) and then starts sitting on them. After beginning to sit on the eggs, though, the hen stops laying. She will not lay until she is no longer broody (whether because the eggs hatch or due to human intervention), and usually for a few weeks after being broody. Then she will lay normally.
