White Leghorn hasn't laid in a while

My 5 year old white leghorn, Clara, hasn't laid in a while, maybe a year. My EE is the same age yet is a productive layer. Clara looks to be in good health and act perfectly normal. She still squats. I know egg laying drops off at around 3 years of age but my EE lays just fine.

Every hen is different. Some are done by 3, others lay much longer in life. Feeding a higher protein ration can help optimize laying in birds.

Also, White Leghorns are not bred to lay for a while. EEs are dual purpose chickens, which may contribute to your hen's longer laying life

Production hens like leghorns typically burn out after a few years. They start with the same amount of eggs as other breeds, (All chicks are born with miniature yolks in them), but they use them up sooner.
