My white Leghorn has not layed an egg since December. She will be a year old in June. She was laying almost an egg a day in the late fall but stopped in the winter. I thought it was because of the cold but its warmer now and she still hasnt layed.

She has good energy and eats well but her comb has been pretty pale and her feathers seem dull and dirtyier then her coop mates. I have been feeding her more protein(cat food) and calcium(yogurt and cottage cheesse) to see if its a dietary problem but she still has not produced. Her three roomates lay on a daily basis.

Any ideas?

Check her for mites/lice. I had a CM that was very prone to them and they seemed to like her over the other chickens. She was usually the only one who had a problem and her symptoms were similar to yours. I had to give her a long bath in flea/tick shampoo and then dip her in a flea/tick dip to get rid of them. Then, along with the other girls, I dusted her weekly with poultry dust for a couple of weeks to make sure of any hatching eggs. She perked right up within 24 hours of the bath. I also routinely put poultry dust in their dustbath (a cat litter pan with sand and wood ash) and use DE in their bedding.
As far as the egg laying is concerned, many people have advocated putting some Cayenne Pepper in their food to jump start or re-start egg laying. You might want to try that too. But, definately check for little creepy crawlies. Good luck.
