Ok, if you could only have one of the colors to have and breed... What would be the better choice? white or buff? White isn't seen as much, but would it be a more sought after color?

Wellllll, I did not know there were white orphingtons! I would pick buff because that is just such a pretty color. In fact, I have two three week old buff orphington pullets. And they are adoreable.

I would imagine that since white is more rare, you might get more money for the eggs..........

I would still pick buff.....LOL

Good luck to you!

What is your purpose in breeding? Are you looking to raise dual purpose birds for meat/eggs or sell hatching eggs or show or preserve breed or just for fun? Depending on your answer, my responses would be different.

For food/eggs: either, since white is rarer, I'd go with those because you could potentially sell the eggs for a bit more

For selling hatching eggs: i would go with which ever color currently represents the breed the best

For showing: same as above

For preserving breed: white, they are not as abundant as buff

For fun: I'd go straight for personality.
