Are White Pekins good layers? I am thinking about getting some and would like to know. Also, about how old are they when they start laying? Thanks, Scott

I've heard that they don't lay as good as runners and khaki Campbells and I've even heard of pekins being seasonal...they will lay at around 20 weeks of age as long as they reach that age in the summer/fall. If they reach laying age in the winter, they probably won't lay until the spring.

My pekins hatched on Easter and just started laying in December. Since she started, she has laid 2 eggs a day. They all add up pretty quickly, I cant imagine what I will do with the eggs once both of my girls start laying. Its winter here and she is still laying every day.

My 3 pekins laid every day... with an exception just every once in a while.
I gave them away almost a year ago, and the guy that has them says
that they are the best layers that he has.
He also has a bunch of chickens, call ducks and musckovies.

Mine started laying at 20 weeks and I still get eggs from them everyday, even in this freezing weather brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I had pekins and they laid just as good as my hens! Nice large off-white eggs with tough shells!

no, that's not normal. Are you sure they are coming from only one duck? You said you have 2 ducks.
