Hi! Back in July, we order some chicks but we ordered ALL female day old chicks....been watching this one carefully lately and am getting the feeling that she is clearly a HE! LOL they are all about 10wks, now. Any thoughts?? I will post another pic of him/her with the other 2 white plymouth rocks below.

Thanks!

I'm positive. We ordered from a reputable hatchery and they were all a day or two old when we received them at the end of July. Even our barred PR don't have combs or wattles like that. Lol it doesn't matter to me if it is a hen or roo, honestly . I'd be thrilled if it did turn out to be a roo! Just am curious. :)

Oh awesome! That is right around the corner! Then we should have a Def answer shortly!! Haha thanks! :)

How did your White Plymouth Rock turn out? Male?

I have one that is now 11 weeks old. At 7 weeks, it popped out bright red comb and wattle but then didn't do much after that. At 10 weeks (last week) it was attacked by a hawk and is in the house for rest and recovery which is going well but no change in comb and wattle. Not sure if that is because it is a pullet, or if the stress and recovery has momentarily stumped growth and development.

I have never had any of the Plymouth Rocks before so not sure what to expect with development. Thought maybe those that know this breed could say better if this one is male or female. I had read that they mature early but I am not sure if that is accurate.

What do you think?

The first two pics at 9 weeks. The last pic is at 10 weeks a day or two after the hawk attack.
