White Silkie X Splash Silkie?

Hmm.. the chicken calculator confuses me too but i tried it and it seems that with a white hen and splash rooster i would get 25% white and 25% blue... Did i do it wrong?

Must have. With white the only thing that you can tell about the bird is that it carries to copies of recessive white. (Dominant white is quite uncommon, but not completely unheard of in silkies.) Other than the the genes for plumage colour and pattern could be ANYTHING. If you start by selecting recessive white the calculator will plug in a generic guess for hte other genes. Chances are pretty good that they will not be accurate for a specific bird. If you do as I suggested and start by selecting some other colour and modify the genes a bit, THEN select c/c, you will get one set of results when you calculate the crossing. Go back and select a different starting colour, modify those genes differently, select c/c and you will get different results when you calculate the crossing.

Sorry when i said 25% white and 25% blue i believe it actually said 25% blue males, 25% blue females, 25% White males, and 25% white females.
