Been lurking for awhile. Figured it was time to join.

Anyway, someone want to take a guess on this leghorn. (S)he is probably 5 weeks. She has a decent size comb like the breed and it really has no pink to it. I cant see any wattles. Male or female.

Leg thickness, comb development, and stance make me think cockerel. However, even Leghorn pullets develop quickly, so I could be wrong. I would post some new photos in a few weeks.

Darn, I hope it's a pullet. It is by far our favorite, acts like a dog and follows us around.

Anyway, out to build the coop.

I think it's a pullet. That doesn't look like enough comb for a five week old Leghorn cockerel.

Here is a photo of some of my white Leghorns at six weeks. The cockerel is obvious. BTW, are you sure about the hatch date on your birds? They really don't have very many true feathers for five weeks.

Well, maybe 4 weeks is right. I lost track. I'll post another in a week. Hopefully I will get done with the coop today or close to it.
