Whiting's True Blue

I have three of these girls from Murray MacMurray, though I bought them at 8 weeks old (supposedly). I think they are about 24 weeks old. Anybody out there have some? When do they start laying for real? (I know what Murray MacMurray says.) What color are their combs when they are laying well? Are yours skittish like a game bird might be?
